Excursions in Fürth

You do not have to leave Fürth to spend time outdoors. The centrally located Stadtpark offers walking paths, landscaped green spaces, a rose garden and the Fontänenhof. From the city centre, you can also quickly reach riverside areas and larger green spaces along the city's rivers.

The Fürth Wiesengrund is particularly characteristic of the city's green side, with the meadows of the Pegnitz, Rednitz and Regnitz providing space for walking and cycling. At the river confluence, the Pegnitz and Rednitz meet and continue as the Regnitz.

Fürth's historic centre is characterised by sandstone buildings, half-timbered houses and an unusually dense collection of historic architecture. Gustavstraße is one of its best-known streets, combining distinctive buildings with cafés, restaurants and traditional places to stop for a break. Nearby Grüner Markt is surrounded by historic façades and features the Gauklerbrunnen fountain.

The Town Hall, St Michael's Church and the grand streets of Hornschuchpromenade and Königswarterstraße can also be included in a walk through the city. Together, they offer an easy way to discover Fürth's architecture and history within relatively short distances.

Many places in Fürth can be combined without a car. The historic centre, Gustavstraße, Grüner Markt and Stadtpark are close together, while the underground, buses and cycling provide additional ways to reach other neighbourhoods and green spaces.

For a longer day out, increase your search radius to include further destinations across the Nuremberg Metropolitan Region and the surrounding Franconian countryside. Check current connections before departure and allow enough time for both the outward and return journey when travelling farther from Fürth.
